Epiphyllum 'beavertail' 12cm
The big brother of the ‘Fishbone Cactus’, the Epiphyllum ‘Beavertail’ has huge succulent flat leaves - similar to that of a beaver! This plant loves a bright spot but out of direct light. Minimal watering needs - water as the soil becomes dry.
Light: Prefers medium light conditions.
Water: Prefers more water during the warmer months, but won't appreciate sitting in wet conditions. Try to keep things lightly moist. Water as the top of the soil starts to dry out but there is still moisture at root level. In winter, allow the the soil to dry out a little more between watering.
Temperature: Needs average to warm conditions 16-25°C but will be OK down to 10°C for short periods.
Humidity: High humidity requirements. Ideally suited to kitchens and bathrooms where they can take advantage of any steam generated.
Height and Growth Rate: Trails 1-2m. Fast growing. Cut back to desired size if it gets too long.
