Παχύφυτο με πολύ καλή διακλάδωση και υπέροχο χρωματισμό των φύλλων της. Σε συνθήκες σκιάς το χρώμα των φύλλων παραμένει πράσινα, αλλά σε ήλιο μεταμορφώνεται σε φωτεινό κόκκινο-πορτοκαλί. Το χρώμα είναι ακόμα πιο έντονο το Χειμώνα σαν αποτέλεσμα της χαμηλής θερμοκρασίας.
Η ταξινόμηση αυτού το είδους είναι αμφιλεγόμενη. Πολλές φορές αναφέρεται ως ποικιλία της Crassula erosula ή της Crassula subacaulis ssp. erosula, αλλά το πιο πιθανόν είναι να αποτελεί υβρίδιο της Crassula capitella.
English
It is a succulent plant, that can reach up to 40 cm in height.
Generally it produces many long and erect stems, on which numerous elongated, ovate leaves appear, larger at the base and shrinking towards the apex.
The foliage develops in a spiral or rosette shape, is of a light green color, but with exposure to the sun it takes on an intense red color, creating a wonderful chromatic effect.
The flowering period is usually in spring / summer, when very small white or pink star-shaped inflorescences bloom.
Care
- It requires a lot of light throughout the year, however, avoid direct sunlight especially during the hottest hours of the day.
- It is preferable to keep it at mild temperatures and never below 7 °C, for this reason it is recommended to shelter it during the winter period.
- Water moderately and only when the soil is completely dry. It is enough to water it once a week in spring and summer, reduce it to once every two months in autumn and to suspend it completely in winter.
- The best soil is a well draining and porous one, for example formed by a mix of peat and pumice so that water does not stagnate.
- They do not need frequent fertilization, it is sufficient to dilute the fertilizer with watering once a year.
