Τα Ιαπωνικά σφενδάμια (Άτσερ) είναι το ‘crème de la crème’ κάθε κήπου. Ένα μαγευτικό φυτό που δεν χρειάζεται κλάδεμα και που αφήνεται να σχηματίσει μόνο του το δικό του ιδιαίτερο σχήμα.

Η ποικιλία ‘Beni Maiko’ είναι μια φανταστική ποικιλία Ιαπωνικού Άτσερ με υπέροχο κόκκινο νέο φύλλωμα. Το Ιαπωνικό όνομα του σημαίνει ‘ένα κορίτσι με κόκκινα μαλλιά που χορεύει’. Τα φύλλα του είναι μικρά (περίπου 5εκ), αλλά το χρώμα τους την Άνοιξη είναι μοναδικό και το θέαμα είναι ακόμα καλύτερο νωρίς το Καλοκαίρι όταν τα πρώτα φύλλα ωριμάζουν και στις άκρες των βλαστών νέα φύλλα αναπτύσσονται. Ένα μοναδικό φυτό κήπου!

Μεγαλώνει αργά και φτάνει περίπου 2μ σε ύψος και άνοιγμα. Σχηματίζει φυσικά ένα πυκνό θάμνο με ένα οβάλ ή σχεδόν στρογγυλό σχήμα. Το κλάδεμα δεν είναι απαραίτητο αλλά μπορεί να γίνει αν κάποιος επιθυμεί να το διαμορφώσει. Τα πανέμορφα κόκκινα της φωτιάς φύλλα του αναδεικνύονται ακόμα πιο πολύ όταν συνδυάζεται με θάμνους που έχουν διαφορετικό χρώμα. Ανθεκτικό φυτό, δεν χρειάζεται ιδιαίτερη φροντίδα.

Φροντίδα

Όπως όλα τα Acer, χρειάζεται το χώμα του να είναι συνεχώς υγρό, με καλή αποστράγγιση, ουδέτερο προς όξινο. Προτιμά θέσεις με σκιά αλλά τους καλύτερους χρωματισμούς τους παίρνει σε θέσεις με ήλιο. Αγαπά τις θέσεις με υψηλή ατμοσφαιρική υγρασία αλλά δεν είναι απαραίτητο για τη σωστή και υγιή ανάπτυξη του.

Japanese maples (Acer) are the ‘crème de la crème’ of every garden. A magical plant that does not need pruning and that is left to form its own special shape on its own.

The ‘Beni Maiko’ variety is a fantastic Japanese Acer variety with wonderful red new foliage. Its Japanese name means 'a girl with red hair dancing'. The leaves are small (about 5cm), but their color in Spring is unique and the spectacle is even better in early Summer when the first leaves ripen and new leaves develop at the ends of the shoots. A unique garden plant!

It grows slowly and reaches about 2m in height and opening. It naturally forms a dense shrub with an oval or almost round shape. Pruning is not necessary but can be done if one wishes to shape it. The beautiful red leaves of the fire stand out even more when combined with shrubs that have a different color. Durable plant, does not need special care.

Care
Like all Acer, the soil needs to be constantly moist, well drained, neutral to acidic. Prefers places with shade but gets the best colors in places with sun. It loves places with high atmospheric humidity but it is not necessary for its proper and healthy development.
